Something Wrong with your Cooker?
Before contacting your nearest Service Centre/Installer, check the problem guide below; there may be nothing wrong
with your cooker.
Problem Check
Ignition does not work
If all burners fail to ignite:
Check that spar ks appear at the burners;
A cli ck ing noise should be heard.
If not
Check that the plug is pl ugged in to a
13amp Electric socket and the supply
is switched on.
If all burners still fail to ignite
Top Cavity Grill Burner
Check and replace if necessary the 13am p fus e
If only one bur ner fails to ignite
Check that the burner is dry and that spillage of food or
cl eaning fl uid remains are not affecting the Igni tor or burner
ports.
Burner Ports Ignitor
Clean away any debri s with a dry nylon brush such as an
Hotplate Burner
old dry toothbrush.
Hob Top
If a wire wool pad has been used for cl eaning around the
burner ens ure the Ignitor is free from any stray strands.
Any water on the burner shoul d be dried with a cloth or
kitchen towel.
On the hotplate make sure that all burner
parts are c orrec tly seated
Burner Ports Ignitor
Oven or Grill will not stay lit
For c orrect ignition of ov en/gri ll burner s pres s the igniti on button
when the contr ol knob is released
and then push in and turn c ontrol knobs anti- clockwis e.
Control Panel Control Knobs
Continue to pres s the ignition button until the spar k lights the gas .
Onc e alight releas e the i gnition button and c ontinue to hold the
control knob in for a further 6 to 10 s econds.
Then release the control knob and set to the requi red temperatur e.
The flame should now stay alight.
If the flam e does not hold and goes out wait 30 sec onds and try
agai n
Oven Control Gr ill Control
Oven Temperature seems too
Check that the temperature has been set in accordance with
high or too low
the tem perature charts. It m ay be necess ary to increase or
decreas e the recom m ended tem perature by 10 C to sui t your
taste
Oven does not cook evenly.
Check the tem perature and shelf position are as r ecom mended
in the tem perature charts
Check that the Utensi l being used in the oven allow sufficient
air fl ow ar ound them.
Check that the cooker is level .
Hotplates are slow to boil or will
Check that your pans conform to the recommendations in
not simmer
these instructions.
Odour or smoke when using your new cooker
This is normal and should cease after a short period.
Condensation / Steam in the Oven After Use
Condensation and steam is a by product of cooking food
with a water content.
To help minimise always:
A) Try to avoid leaving food in the oven to cool after bei ng cooked
B) Use a c oved Utens il wherever possibl e
Condensation on the Wall at the Rear of the Cooker
Steam and/or condensation m ay appear from the vent at the r ear of
the appliance when using an oven, particularly when cooking foods
with a high water content (S uch as Ov en Chips or Chick en).
This is norm al and any exces s s hould be wi ped off
